Brightside Academy in Philadelphia is seeking a dependable Janitorial Specialist to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, families, and team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of commercial cleaning or similar experience preferred.
• Reliable, detail-oriented and safety-focused.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of managing cleaning tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiar with safe chemical use and storage practices.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Able to lift, move and handle cleaning equipment as needed.
• Able to pass required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, restrooms, offices and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, shampoo and maintain floors.
• Replenish cleaning products, paper goods and classroom supplies.
• Remove trash and prepare containers for pickup.
• Operate custodial equipment safely.
• Maintain cleaning inventory and request supplies.
• Clean windows, furniture, fixtures and academy grounds.
• Support snow and ice removal when needed.
• Assist with academy opening and closing tasks.
• Follow OSHA, safety and regulatory requirements.
