Job Title: 3rd Shift Janitorial Shift Manager

Location: Gerald R. Ford Airport, Grand Rapids, MI

Job Overview

Calling all night owls! We’re looking for an organized and motivated 3rd Shift Janitorial Shift Manager to help keep our cleaning operations running smoothly during the night shift at Gerald R. Ford Airport. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for overseeing our cleaning professionals and ensuring the airport stays in top shape, even during overnight hours. You'll work closely with the Site Manager, helping to coordinate efforts for larger areas and making sure everything runs like clockwork.

This position is perfect for someone who has strong leadership skills and enjoys problem-solving on the fly. You'll be leading a team of cleaning professionals, making sure they have what they need to get the job done, and ensuring that our work meets the airport’s high standards for cleanliness and safety. You'll also have the chance to dive into hands-on management, from handling daily operations to conducting inspections and following up on customer feedback.

You’ll oversee everything from basic cleaning routines to special projects, making sure every detail is covered. If you’re someone who loves staying organized, managing teams, and taking ownership of your work, this role is for you. What You'll Do

• Lead and manage the cleaning crew on your shift, ensuring both routine cleaning and any specialty tasks are completed.
• Oversee the direction, coordination, and evaluation of your team, ensuring all work meets the required standards.
• Ensure shift paperwork and reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Conduct regular building inspections to make sure everything is meeting the cleaning specifications (using Otuvy software).
• Help foster a positive company culture and promote core values within the team.
• Maintain communication with team leads to resolve any issues or challenges as they come up.
• Investigate any incidents or accidents involving employees to ensure safety standards are maintained.
• Regularly check in with customers to ensure they are satisfied with the cleaning services provided.
• Take on additional tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the cleaning team.
  
  

What You’ll Need

• High School Diploma or relevant experience (we’re open to work experience in place of formal education).
• 2-3 years’ experience in janitorial services or a similar supervisory role.
• Strong organizational, customer service, and management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Google email.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Be ready for extended periods of standing, sitting, walking, or kneeling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work overnight shifts.
