Compensation: $75,000.00 annual salary (US Dollars)
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.

Shift: 60% overnight shift 11PM - 8AM 40%, Swing shift

Position Summary:

The Assistant Janitorial Project Manager supports ABM Industries' janitorial operations at Footprint Center in Phoenix, AZ, ensuring top-tier post-event cleaning and facility maintenance. This role oversees overnight cleaning crews, coordinates staffing, and manages client relations to uphold cleanliness and operational standards in one of Phoenix's premier event venues.

Working closely with the Project Manager, this position is responsible for developing efficient work plans, resolving client concerns, and enhancing service delivery in a high-volume, fast-paced sports and entertainment environment. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Janitorial Operations & Client Relations
  • Develop and execute janitorial work plans to meet event schedules and contract expectations
  • Oversee post-event cleaning operations to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes
  • Serve as a client liaison for post-event cleaning, responding to service requests, complaints, and feedback
  • Maintain continuous contact with client to ensure satisfaction and promote retention
  • Recommend additional janitorial services (TAG work) and assist with cost-effective solutions
  • Track and report incidents (e.g., injuries, property damage) in a timely manner
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Manager regarding progress and potential issues

Staffing & Employee Relations
  • Supervise janitorial crews and frontline personnel to meet performance expectations
  • Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff
  • Promote safety and compliance with OSHA standards and ABM policies
  • Support training initiatives for cleaning equipment, safety procedures, and client-specific protocols
  • Collaborate with union representatives and understand union agreements when applicable
  • Enforce ABM and client policies through coaching, mentoring, and corrective action when needed

Minimum Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of janitorial supervisory experience (event venue experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of commercial janitorial equipment (e.g., auto scrubbers, extractors, floor machines)
  • Understanding of OSHA safety procedures
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Flexible to respond to last-minute requests and work extended hours
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • Valid Driver's License for occasional business travel
  • Comfortable working overnight shifts aligned with event schedules
