Job summary

The Budd Group is seeking a Janitorial Support Specialist to lead operations for our Private Education accounts in Richmond, VA. This role blends on-site leadership with regional travel up to 70% to support our partner campuses.

You will act as the subject matter expert for janitorial operations, conduct audits, and shape SOWs and KPIs. A Bachelor's degree and 2–5 years of salaried management experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Business Administration, Facilities Management, or Operations Management preferred.
• 2-5 years of salaried management experience in custodial/janitorial operations.
• Highly motivated, autonomous, and able to influence without direct reports.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 70% (including overnight stays).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the leading Janitorial Operations Manager for Private Education accounts.
• Conduct quarterly on-site audits, document findings, and set KPIs and cleaning frequencies.
• Collaborate with Business Development to validate scope and pricing for new opportunities.
• Step in as interim Regional Custodial Manager to ensure service continuity.

What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities

As our Janitorial Support Specialist, you will act as the high-impact subject matter expert for our private education division. You will serve as the tip of the spear for operational readiness, partnering closely with local teams without the burden of direct reports.

• Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the leading Janitorial Operations Manager for Private Education accounts, delivering tactical guidance and technical support.
• Quality Assurance & Operations: Conduct quarterly on-site audits, document findings, and implement best-in-class SOWs, KPIs, and cleaning frequencies.
• Pricing & Growth: Partner with Business Development to provide APPA-standard pricing, validating scope, staffing, and equipment for new opportunities.
• Strategic Leadership: Step in as the interim Regional Custodial Manager during manager absences to guarantee service continuity, and spearhead the operational launch of new school accounts.

What You Bring To The Team / Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's Degree is strictly required (Business Administration, Facilities Management, or Operations Management preferred).
• Experience: 2-5 years of progressive, salaried management experience in custodial or janitorial operations within large, complex organizations.
• Drive & Autonomy: You are a highly motivated go-getter who can influence teams and drive projects forward without formal reporting authority.
• Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel regionally up to 70% of the time (including overnight stays) to support our premier educational partners.
