Job Position Description:
Operations Manager Position

Manager responsibilities include working with the cleaners, organizing employee shifts, training and motivating team members. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all staff/Supervisors stay on task and complete all assignments to ServiceMaster standards. To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of cleaning principles and team management abilities. The person selected for this position will need to be willing to clean facilities if necessary along with managing Service Quality in their areas.

Responsibilities
  • Training cleaners and Supervisors on ServiceMaster’s standards, products, processes, and procedures.
  • Travel to different areas within our portfolio of facilities in Texas and NE Arkansas to conduct Facility Inspections.
  • If required during uncovered facilities, clean assigned buildings by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Gather and empty trash. Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Clean and polish furniture.
  • Oversee staff and Supervisor performance and ensure all assignments are completed in accordance with the set task schedule.
  • Train cleaners and Supervisors on task schedules specific to individual accounts.
  • Perform inspections and give constructive performance feedback to staff members.
  • Assign shifts and make necessary adjustments in case of call-offs or no-shows.
  • Hiring and staffing for vacant positions.
  • Respond to customer complaints and requests in a timely and caring manner.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and OSHA regulations.
  • Use proper PPE where required.
  • Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security systems as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • 8 years’ experience as a custodian, janitor, or housekeeper.
  • 5 years as a Floor Tech.
  • 8 years of Manager Experience.
  • Will provide on-the-job training to those with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital, or school is a plus.
  • The ability to be flexible, work at a fast pace, and in a multi-tasked job is a must.
  • Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude and contribute to the overall team effort including being in uniform, dependable, and on time.
  • Respect and understanding for co-workers and customers.
  • Must be able to communicate in English. Bilingual is a plus.
  • Mileage Reimbursement.
Physical Demands and Qualifications:
  • Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching overhead, reaching forward. Must be able to lift and/or carry 25lbs.
  • Ability to read cleaning instructions.
  • Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses.
  • Strong expertise as a Floor Tech.
