Job description

At Marsden Central, the Janitorial Lead is responsible for training general cleaners under the direction of the manager, inspecting their work, and meeting performance requirements. The Janitorial Lead also fills in for absentee personnel and maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the assigned facility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Monitor facility security and safety by ensuring doors are locked after operating hours.
2. Measure, label, and use chemicals following proper procedures and safety protocols.
3. Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors following the Marsden Way TECH cleaning process.
4. Empty trash receptacles.
5. Perform high and low dusting.
6. Clean and service restrooms, breakrooms, conference rooms, and kitchen areas.
7. Report maintenance issues of the facility and/or equipment to the supervisor.
8. Train assigned personnel on cleaning methods, procedures, and equipment.
9. Provide work direction to personnel under the guidance of the manager.
10. Perform routine inspections of work performed.
11. Serve as a backup for absent personnel.
12. Teach and coach others.
13. Work hours vary and typically occur outside of normal business hours, including early mornings, evenings, and overnights. Some travel between accounts may be required.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Knowledge of safety practices.
2. Ability to manage time effectively while leading others.
3. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
4. Effective communication skills for training and scheduling.
5. Ability to complete company training such as train-the-trainer, SOP review, and feedback training.
6. Knowledge of cleaning procedures and practices (preferred).
7. Knowledge of commercial floor care and products (preferred).
