Job summary

IFS is seeking a Janitorial Crew Member to join our fast-paced Minnesota team. This full-time role offers days/nights varying shifts, including weekends, in a union-represented environment with leadership opportunities.

As part of the Janitorial Services Team, you will perform floor care, restroom servicing, trash removal, and general cleaning tasks, while reporting facility issues and maintaining supplies for each shift. Benefits may vary by CBA.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning in building or warehouse settings.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions (in English).
• Strong communication skills to interact with staff and the public.
• Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain building floor surfaces (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming).
• Clean furniture, walls, glass, mirrors, fixtures, and equipment.
• Gather and empty trash; service and supply restrooms.
• May move furniture or equipment; may extract carpet for small jobs.
• Operate cleaning equipment properly and prepare cleaning solutions.
• Monitor facility issues and report repairs to Lead/Manager.
• Ensure supplies are stocked for each shift.
• Follow safety rules and hazardous material handling per guidelines.

Work Schedule: Days/nights vary, including weekends

Shifts Available:

4am-11am 6 days thursdays off

Summary Of Duties:

• Clean and maintain building floor surfaces, including but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, degumming and spot cleaning
• Clean furniture, walls, glass, mirrors, fixtures, machines and other equipment (e.g. Dust, wash, vacuum, and polish)
• Gather and empty trash
• Service, clean and supply restrooms
• May move furniture, light fixtures or other items manually or with hand truck
• May extract carpet (small jobs)
• Execute proper use of all equipment
• Clean and maintain cleaning equipment per instructions (e.g. rags, mops, machines, tools and buckets)
• Prepare cleaning solutions (water, detergents and other chemicals) according to specifications
• Monitor and report facility issues requiring repairs (notify Lead, Site or Zone Manager)
• Monitor building security and safety (lock doors after operating hours and ensure electrical appliances are turned off, etc.)
• Properly stack and replace cleaning items and tools
• Ensure supplies are available for each shift
• Report supply requisition needs to Lead/Manager

Requirements For Our Janitorial Crew Member Position:

• Experience in building and warehouse cleaning work.
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
• Communication skills to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.
• Disposition to perform other duties as assigned.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents (generally in English; may have in Spanish where state required).
