Job summary

Harvard Maintenance is hiring a dependable janitorial associate in New Jersey. You will clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms, break rooms, and common areas, perform trash disposal, and operate floor care equipment.

We offer a competitive USD salary with medical, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance, plus a 401K plan. Equal opportunity employer. Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Reliable transportation and ability to meet the physical demands of the job are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year cleaning experience preferred
• Strong communication skills required
• Reliable transportation to and from work sites
• Must be willing to work assigned hours
• Capable of performing the physical demands of the job

Responsibilities

• Perform basic cleaning
• Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
• Empty trash and recycling bins, and dispose of waste properly
• Cleaning includes sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in all areas
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums
• Follow health and safety regulations and company policies
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to management
• Attend to spill cleanup and trash-related tasks as needed
• Must have reliable transportation to work sites
• Capable of performing physical tasks (bending, kneeling, lifting, standing)

A day in the life

• Responsible for all basic cleaning
• Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
• Empty trash and recycling bins, and dispose of waste properly
• Cleaning includes sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in all areas
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums
• Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management
• Performs additional duties as required, including attending to flooded areas, incidental spills, and related clean-up work for trash and restroom concerns
• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable transportation to and from work sites
• Must be willing to work assigned hours
• Capable of performing the physical demands of the job, including bending, kneeling, carrying, lifting, reaching, and standing for extended periods
