Job summary

Blue River Services, Inc. is seeking a Janitorial Associate to maintain a clean, safe rest area environment for visitors. You will perform daily cleaning, trash removal, basic groundskeeping, and friendly customer-service duties following established schedules.

The role requires no prior experience; training is provided. You will work Thursday through Sunday, 6am–3pm, in an on-site environment, with emphasis on safety and quality standards.

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None

JOB STATUS: Full time, Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: Thurs-Sun (6am-3pm)

Summary

Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming rest area environment for visitors. The Janitorial Associate completes daily cleaning, trash removal, basic groundskeeping, and customer-service duties while following safety procedures and established cleaning schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, floors, windows, drinking fountains, benches, and other public areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and complete ongoing spot cleaning throughout the facility
• Empty trash containers and remove litter from the building, parking lots, and grounds
• Clean exterior walkways and maintain the overall appearance of the rest area
• Greet visitors, answer questions courteously, and report maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor
• Safely use cleaning supplies, floor-care equipment, and groundskeeping equipment as assigned
• Complete basic lawn care and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and debris removal, when applicable
• Participate in required training and complete additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to communicate professionally with visitors, coworkers, and supervisors
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow cleaning and safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and maintain quality standards

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for 15-20 feet
• Ability to push and pull up to 20 pounds while operating floor-care equipment
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, as assigned

Training Requirements

• Required floor-care and on-the-job training
• Additional safety, equipment, and contract-required training as assigned
