Position Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting the Janitorial ServicesSupervisor with providing on-the-job training and supervision to allemployees in the performance of janitorial duties. A primaryresponsibility of this position is adherence to the contract statementof work for the project. Duties will include the initial and ongoingtraining of employees, management of and ongoing communication withemployees, preparation of the work schedules of cleaning duties,inspection of work to ensure quality; assisting the Supervisor inmonitoring inventory levels to insure adequate janitorial supplies andmonitoring and maintaining the operating conditions of motor vehiclesand janitorial equipment related to the effective work performance ofthe janitorial worker.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Janitorial Supervisor with providing on-the-jobtraining and supervision to all employees in the performance ofjanitorial duties:
    • Vacuuming of offices
    • Wet mopping of halls, offices, and cafeterias
    • Dust mopping of halls, offices, and cafeterias
    • Buffing, stripping, and waxing of floors
    • Stocking bathrooms with tissue and paper towels
    • Cleaning of bathroom areas
    • Empty trash & ash trays
    • Cleaning other areas as needed
    • Washing windows, as assigned
    • Washing of walls, as assigned
  • Assist the Janitorial Supervisor with planning, organizing,directing, controlling and coordinating all services in thestatement of work.
  • Ensures adherence to the contract statement of work for the project
  • Perform Quality Control inspections on work performed by thejanitorial staff in coordination with the supervisor
  • Stewards a positive and productive relationship with the NobisEnterprises DARB customer
  • Is a cultural champion for the organization fostering anenvironment of trust, alignment, transparency and accountability.
  • Meets all quality standards in the Statement of Work (SOW) and contract.
  • Provides initial and ongoing training of employees
  • Manages daily and ongoing communication with employees
  • Prepare work schedules of cleaning duties
  • Inspects work to ensure quality
  • Assists the Supervisor in monitoring inventory levels to insureadequate janitorial supplies
  • Monitors the operating conditions of motor vehicles; notifies theOperation Manager (vehicles liaison) or Janitorial Supervisor of any concerns.
  • Monitors the operating conditions of janitorial equipment andnotifies Janitorial Supervisor of any concerns
  • Assists supervisor with safety compliance issues includingmaintaining OSHA standards on work materials (i.e., SDS Sheets)
  • Maintains a good attendance record, according to established policies
  • Seasonal (quarterly or semi-annual) cleaning or overflow work as directed.
  • Duty weekend cleaning or overflow work as directed.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Prior Experience:

  • Experience with staffing and Quality Control inspections oncustodial contracts highly desired.
  • Experience in guiding or working with people with disabilities a must
  • 1-year supervisory experience or 4 years prior janitorialexperience with demonstrated leadership capability

  • Must pass drug screen and background check.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Equipment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of most equipment related tojanitorial operations (i.e., floor buffers, vacuum, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

  • Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
  • Be able to reach overhead.
  • Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limitedto, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling andsquatting for extended periods of time.
  • Be able to handle, lift, pull and push materials and equipment tocomplete assigned job tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and ability to withstand strenuous activity.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.

Visual Effort:

  • Well-lighted office/warehouse environment requiring an averageamount of visual effort.

Safety:

  • Follows all prescribed safety regulations to diminish accidents.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of evacuation procedures and the whereabouts of exitsand fire extinguishers.
  • Immediately report circumstances you consider may present a hazardto yourself and others.
  • Report any accident whether minor or major.

Security

  • Must abide by all security regulations of the facility.
  • Must obtain and wear a photo ID.
