Janitorial Area Supervisor - Broward County (Operations)

We are seeking a dedicated, client-focused, and passionate Supervisor to lead, supervise, and coordinate activities of a team of Cleaning Specialists engaged in cleaning and maintaining diverse facilities. You will work under the direction of the Area Manager for the Broward Division.

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Report to the Area Manager, obtain job assignments each evening, and report any issues from the previous work night.
  2. Perform daily routine inspections, ensure immediate corrections, and maintain high-quality standards across all accounts.
  3. Provide initial and ongoing job site training to cleaning specialists, assigning specific duties based on site requirements.
  4. Work alongside cleaning specialists when needed and cover for absences.
  5. Deliver supplies to small accounts on occasion.
  6. Inspect cleaning equipment and supplies during account inspections.
  7. Ensure service completion in each supervised account.
  8. Make recommendations and provide written reports on issues like workmanship, attendance, appearance, etc., to Area Managers.
  9. Communicate professionally, providing detailed information and responding promptly to problems or suggestions.
  10. Enhance service quality through hiring, training, cross-training, and development of cleaning specialists.
  11. Ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  12. Maintain inventory of supplies per account.
  13. Assist in managing equipment and repair budgets.
  14. Review timesheets and monitor exception reports daily.
  15. Coordinate special projects with the Area Manager.
  16. Ensure all employees complete orientation and training before starting work.
  17. Assist in hiring, terminating, and transferring employees.
  18. Complete all paperwork promptly and respond swiftly to company requests.
  19. Work with HR regarding employee issues.
  20. Promote a safe work environment, hold safety meetings, and document them.
  21. Ensure employees wear uniforms, ID badges, and safety gear as required, following safety guidelines.
  22. Inspect and maintain equipment, janitor closets, and chemical labeling.
  23. Report safety issues to risk management.
  24. Prepare accounts for inspections and keep management informed.
  25. Support the management team at Total Cleaning and perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of janitorial supervision experience.
  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends, and on-call availability.
  • Computer skills are advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong problem-solving, follow-up, and judgment skills.
  • Attention to detail and results-oriented approach.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to read and follow schedules.
