Canlan Sports is currently looking for a Janitor worker.

Rate of pay: $15.00 - $16.25/hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive janitor who is a hands-on individual to perform janitorial and minor maintenance duties, ensuring the overall upkeep of the sports complex and surrounding grounds. Responsibilities include cleaning and performing small repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
• Ensure entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear, and safe, including:
• Property & grounds cleanup
• Grass cutting and edging
• Seasonal snow and debris removal
• Maintain checklists, records, and reports related to:
• Change room cleanliness
• Window cleanliness
• Washroom and shower cleaning
• Parking lot & property cleaning
• Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing, and buffing as per established floor care procedures
• Assist with minor maintenance as required
• Assist in ice maintenance during peak periods, short staffing, or as needed

Education and Knowledge Requirements

• Completed high school education or equivalent (asset)
• Valid driver’s license (asset)
• Building Service Worker Certificate (BC)
• Previous experience as a commercial janitor (preferred)
• Willingness to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, call outs)
• Good communication skills (verbal and written), approachable and team-oriented
