Job description

Position Title: Janitor

Location: Seattle, WA

Division: Potawatomi Defense Operations

Shift: Part Time 3:30-8:30 PM

Employment Status: Non-Exempt Hourly (SCA)

Hourly rate: $22.25/hr Shift Differential + $4.57 H&W

Position Summary:

Works under the supervision of the On-site Site Supervisor. Ensures 95% standards of assigned tasks for all facility receiving these services, with no customer complaints for the month. Must be able to utilize cleaning products, chemicals, vacuums, mops, wringers, dust tools, and floor machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Follow all rules and regulations relative to entering and leaving the building.
  2. Be physically able to perform assigned work and free of communicable diseases.
  3. Do not disturb papers, open desk drawers or cabinets, or use equipment meant for official use.
  4. Report fires, hazards, and repair needs.
  5. Lock specified rooms after cleaning and return keys to COR.
  6. Hand over personal articles found to the COR.
  7. Follow procedures for handling and mixing chemicals.
  8. Dust all furniture and equipment, removing lint and soil with appropriate tools.
Additional Tasks:
  • Remove all trash, replace liners, disinfect, and ensure odor-free waste containers.
  • Wash wastebaskets, furniture, and remove scuff marks and stains.
  • Dust ledges, counters, flat surfaces, and clean walls and fixtures.
  • Spot clean smudges, fingerprints, and streaks; disinfect restrooms and service fixtures.
  • Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, and waxing.
  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets; clean interior windows, blinds, shades, and drinking fountains.
  • Clean entrances, counters, sinks, and respond to unscheduled cleaning requests within 1 hour.
  • Perform guano cleaning in specified areas weekly and quarterly as needed.
Supervision:

Work under minimal supervision.

Qualifications:
  • Must perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; 3 months of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of janitorial methods, practices, and safety precautions.
Core Competencies:
  • Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate good customer service skills.
Physical Demands:
  • Lift up to 50 pounds; extended standing or walking; reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching.
Work Environment:

Office building setting.
