Job summary

Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley seeks a reliable janitorial associate to clean and maintain commercial and government facilities. You will perform dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing restrooms, and floor care while adhering to safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Candidate should read chemical labels, use cleaning chemicals safely, and demonstrate strong attention to detail. Training and a supportive team environment are provided.

Responsibilities

• Facility Maintenance: maintain a safe, clean environment with dusting, vacuuming, and trash disposal.

• Floor Care: mop, strip, scrub, and spot-clean carpets.
• Specialized Cleaning: clean computer rooms, glass surfaces, and polish furniture.
• Compliance: follow agency policies and safety regulations including OSHA standards.
• Government Standards: perform duties in line with inspections and quality controls.

Summary

To clean assigned areas in commercial and government facilities to an acceptable level of quality. Must possess a working knowledge of janitorial terms and perform tasks within established time standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Facility Maintenance: Maintain a safe and clean environment by performing high/low dusting, vacuuming, and emptying trash.
• Sanitization: Clean and sanitize restroom fixtures to meet high health and safety standards.
• Floor Care: Perform dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping, scrubbing, and carpet spot cleaning.
• Specialized Cleaning: Clean computer rooms, glass surfaces, and polish furniture, chrome, and stainless steel.
• Compliance: Adhere to all Agency policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements including CARF, OSHA, and the Department of Labor.
• Government Standards: Maintain performance standards subject to inspection by government officials.

Education Requirements

Ability to read or identify names of chemicals on containers.

Experience Requirements

Experience with proper use of chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and identify chemical labels on containers.

• Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations

Physical Demands
