Janitor / Material Handler - Receiving Clerk
Location: Cudahy, WI
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Pay Rate: $16 - $20 per hour (Based on experience)

Our client in Cudahy, WI is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual for a Janitor / Material Handler - Receiving Clerk position on 1st shift. This multifaceted role combines warehouse responsibilities with facility maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and organizing materials, assisting production, and performing daily housekeeping duties across the facility.
Receiving Clerk Duties:
Receive and inspect incoming materials, parts, equipment, and returns
Verify incoming goods against purchase orders or receiving paperwork
Check materials for correct quantity, type, size, part numbers, and dimensions
Label and route materials to storage or production locations
Maintain receiving records and prepare necessary reports
Report any defective or nonconforming material to supervisor
Support the assembly team by pulling and delivering kits as needed
Assist with truck loading and unloading
Material Handler Duties:
Move materials throughout the facility using forklift and/or crane
Operate crane using proper rigging methods to transport and position materials safely
Pull production kits and deliver them to appropriate work areas
Conduct end-of-day tasks such as parking forklifts inside and closing annex doors
Keep storage and production areas organized and clean
Conduct inspections to ensure parts meet production specifications
Support special projects or tasks in other areas as assigned
Janitorial / Housekeeping Duties:
Empty all garbage bins and chip containers throughout the facility
Sweep shop floor and main aisles using sweeper machine
Clean and restock bathrooms (shop, admin, locker rooms): floors, mirrors, drains, dispensers, stalls
Maintain cleanliness in lunchrooms, breakrooms, and conference areas: clean refrigerators, microwaves, counters, tables, and sinks
Clean and organize shop floor, pallets, west yard, and hallway areas
Clean stairwells weekly and wipe down railings
Remove debris from parking lot using forklift with magnetic attachment
Perform snow shoveling and salting duties during winter months
Communication & Teamwork:
Maintain clear and courteous communication with coworkers and supervisors
Follow proper call-in and reporting procedures
Collaborate with logistics, production, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations
Foster a team-oriented environment: listen, motivate, and support others
Qualifications & Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in shipping & receiving and/or janitorial roles preferred
1-2 years of forklift experience preferred
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings
Basic knowledge of the manufacturing environment and material handling practices
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking
Strong problem-solving skills and dedication to safety and quality
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
Physical ability to lift, move, sweep, clean, and perform general labor as needed
