Job Description

Under general supervision, the Janitor performs general custodial andenvironmental service work to ensure Francois Bend Senior Living maintains aclean and safe environment for all residents, employees, and guests.

Janitor/Maintenance

  • Deliver internal andexternal guest service the Francois Bend Senior Living way by ensuringevery interaction is superb.
  • Perform tasks tomaintain the daily appearance of all common areas of Francois Bend SeniorLiving.
  • Clean floors bysweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming: strip, seal, finish, andpolish floors.
  • Service, clean, andsupply restrooms. Gather and empty restroom trash.
  • Clean windows, glasspartitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, andsqueegees.
  • Clean and polishfurniture and fixtures. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Assist MaintenanceSupervisor with any repairs, moving of furniture, and/or general handywork.
  • Notify managementconcerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operatingsupplies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education /Training / Experience:

· -Previous janitorial or maintenance experience preferred

· -Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

· -Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population

· -Interact with guests, residents and staff in a courteous andfriendly manner

· -Knowledge and experience with floor care and equipmentdesired.

PhysicalDemands

·Team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands tofinger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms

·Team member is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop,kneel, crouch, or crawl.

·Team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds,frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or moveup to 50 pounds.
