Join the Brunswick Small Hands Big Dreams team as the Maintenance Technician ( part-time) who helps "behind the scenes" at our Childcare center.
Function: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping Small Hands Big Dreams/Color Our Rainbow Academy facilities in good repair; maintaining operating standards as out lined by our Operations Manager, Director and State Licensing, repairing any problems when they are discovered or referring them for follow up in a timely manner.
Requirements:
Part time availability; typically 10-20 hours per week.
Be able to lift upto 75 pounds; physical stamina to be able handle working outdoors, andin small spaces
Be able to climb on a ladder
Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems
Carpentry abilities to handle basic repairs
General HVAC knowledge
Repair tasks around at facility that include but are not limited to:
*Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair. Follow Daily, Weekly and Monthly schedule as outline
*Use the center communication to follow- up , document and communicate maintenance repair progress. Contact Center administrator with specific questions.
*Repair broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures; determine if outside vendor needs to be called in. Similar assessment with electrical or other equipment
*Provide outdoor maintenance and service to playground equipment or structures; that is not covered by landscaper
*Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
*Paint interior building walls/trim/ spaces when old paint has become faded or chipped
*Replace doors, locks and handles, safety latches
*Install/replace soap dispensers
*Replace / repair trim as needed or requested by Director of Program Quality
*Maintain running list of materials purchased or needed
*Assess small projects presented by the center teams for completion or additional assistance from outside vendor; such as flooring repair or install.
21 years and up
Have own inventory of some basic tools
basic knowledge of facility maintenance
flexibility in the evening after 6pm and on the weekends.
