Simmons Foods, Inc. is hiring a janitor to maintain cleanliness in offices and production areas, following sanitation schedules and safety protocols. The role involves managing cleaning supplies, reading safety labels, and ensuring compliance with BBP and other guidelines.

You will participate in team activities, support BEST practices, and perform additional duties as needed during the 1st shift (Mon-Fri 7a–3:30p). PPE will be worn as required.

• Maintains a clean work area following sanitation schedules across offices, bathrooms and break-rooms.
• Reads safety labels and follows procedures to reduce exposure to hazardous substances.
• Works with team to support BEST practices and company policies.

• Wear appropriate PPE and operate safely (footwear, hearing protection, hair net, safety glasses, dust mask).
• Shift: 1st Shift; Hours: Mon-Fri 7a-3:30p.

To maintain the facility and grounds in a manner consistent with the requirements of the complex facility manager while meeting all local, state or federal requirements.

Essential Position Responsibilities

Ensure cleanliness of offices and production areas: Maintains a clean work area following master sanitation schedule to ensure requirements are met in all offices, bathrooms, and break-rooms. Meeting timelines and completing daily reports to verify completion.

Manage chemicals and cleaning supplies inventory: Monitor usage and cleaning supplies, while effectively communicating levels to manager to ensure no shortages. Read and understand safety labels and preventative practices as well as precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to hazardous substances by following all established safety procedures including but not limited to Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP) guidelines to reduce manual handling risks.

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Janitor and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function nor is it intended that this describe all the work that may be required of the person in this position.

Physical Activities: Must be able to walk, stoop, sit, squat, climb ladders and stairs as well as lift and carry objects up to 75 lbs. in weight, lifting from floor to crown multiple times daily, perform simple grasping and fine finger manipulation of small objects, work comfortably in confined spaces. Must be able to work on feet for the entire shift.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Will use appropriate footwear, hearing protection, hair net, safety glasses, dust mask and any other protective equipment required or needed.
