Job summary

Fechheimer Brothers is seeking a dedicated Janitor to perform cleaning throughout the office and plant, ensuring the facility is maintained in good condition.

You will sweep, mop, clean restrooms, manage trash, assist with basic maintenance, and coordinate with local firms for routine upkeep. Lifting up to 50 pounds and adhering to safety guidelines are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of janitorial experience and/or building maintenance.
• Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning and sweeping around the plant.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
• Clean and maintain restrooms.
• Empty trash and recycling bins.
• Basic building maintenance and inspections as needed.
• Contact various local firms for regular building maintenance.
• Setting and disarming building alarms.
• Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed.
• Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions.
• Any other duties as assigned or needed.

Essential Functions/Physical Demands:

• Positional: Driving in accordance with job duties assigned. Infrequent standing and walking. Constant sitting.
• Gross Mobility: Rare climbing, or crawling. Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Sensory: Rare tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision. Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Frequent use of near and midrange visual acuity, and visual accommodation. Frequent talking.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• General knowledge of building maintenance
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Ability to walk the plant throughout the day cleaning and sweeping
• Specialized sewing equipment maintenance is a plus
