Job description

Job Title: Janitor

We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time Janitor positions at SSC.

Location

New London School District - 901 West Washington Street, New London, WI 54961. Openings at other locations within the school district are available. Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule

Full-time and part-time schedules. Monday through Friday, 2nd shift during the school year and 1st shift during the summer; more details upon interview.

Pay Rate

$15.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Keeps buildings clean and orderly, performing heavy cleaning duties including floor cleaning, rug shampooing, wall and glass washing, and rubbish removal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
2. Dusts and mops floors following approved procedures.
3. Moves equipment and furniture for cleaning and restores them to proper placement.
4. Cleans assigned areas using appropriate materials and equipment, sanitizing all surfaces and following the eight-step cleaning procedure.
5. Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain cleanliness and safety.
6. Identifies areas requiring cleaning and takes initiative to complete tasks.
7. Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
8. Performs tasks in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
9. Strips, scrubs, buffs, and refinishes floors; shampoos carpets.
10. Contributes to team efforts and exhibits professionalism.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
