+ We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time JANITOR positions.

+ Location: Ridgeview HS - 4801 Hardscrabble Road, Columbia, SC 29223 (Openings at other locations within the school district available). Note: online applications accepted only.

+ Requirement: Prior janitorial experience is not required. Willing to train!

+ Pay Range: $12.00 to $14.00 per hour

Job Summary

Maintains cleanliness and order in buildings. Performs heavy cleaning duties, including floor cleaning, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and rubbish removal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
2. Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
3. Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and replaces furniture in correct positions.
4. Cleans assigned areas with appropriate materials and equipment. Sanitizes all surfaces following the eight-step cleaning procedure.
5. Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment.
6. Identifies areas needing cleaning; takes initiative to complete tasks.
7. Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
8. Performs tasks in accordance with all relevant federal, state, and county guidelines.
9. Strips, scrubs, buffs, and refinishes floors; shampoos carpets.
10. Contributes to team efforts; exhibits professionalism with customers, colleagues, and others.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
