Job Opportunity: Janitor

SSC is hiring immediately for full-time Janitor positions at Marywood University, located at 2300 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, hours may vary, including evening shifts. More details will be provided during the interview.

Requirements: Custodial experience is required.

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of buildings, performing heavy cleaning duties such as floor cleaning, rug shampooing, wall and glass washing, and rubbish removal.

Essential Duties:

• Collect and dispose of trash following procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and damp mop floors.
• Move equipment and furniture for cleaning and restore them after.
• Clean assigned areas using proper materials and equipment, sanitize surfaces, follow the eight-step cleaning process.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to ensure a clean environment.
• Identify areas needing cleaning and complete tasks proactively.
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisors, adhering to federal, state, and local guidelines.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpets.
• Contribute to team efforts, maintain professionalism.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
