We are hiring immediately for full-time JANITOR positions.

Location: Johnson C. Smith University - 100 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. Note: Online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time; days may vary. 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. More details upon interview.

Requirement: One year of prior janitorial experience required.

Pay Range: $13.00 to $14.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Maintains cleanliness and order in buildings by performing heavy cleaning duties such as floor cleaning, rug shampooing, wall and glass washing, and rubbish removal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
2. Dust and damp mop floors following procedures.
3. Move equipment and furniture for cleaning, then return them to proper placement.
4. Clean assigned areas using appropriate materials and equipment; sanitize surfaces; follow the eight-step cleaning process.
5. Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain cleanliness and safety.
6. Identify areas needing cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks.
7. Complete all tasks assigned by supervisors.
8. Perform duties in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
9. Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpets.
10. Contribute to team efforts; maintain professionalism with customers and colleagues.
11. Perform additional duties as assigned.
