SSC Services For Education is accepting online applications for a janitor at Alexandria City High School, 3330 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22302. This full‑time position runs 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with days varying, and offers a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. You will perform heavy cleaning, including flooring, rug shampooing, wall and glass washing, rubbish removal, and floors care.

Qualifications

• At least one year of prior janitorial experience.
• Knowledge of health and safety guidelines and the ability to follow infection control plans.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and clean materials and equipment as required.
• Strong attention to detail and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures.
• Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and returns furniture to correct placement.
• Cleans assigned areas with assigned materials and equipment, sanitizes all surfaces, and follows the eight‑step cleaning procedure.
• Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for students, visitors and staff.
• Seeks out areas requiring cleaning; takes initiative to complete the task.
• Completes all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Performs tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
• Strips, scrubs, buffs and refinishes floors; shampoos carpet.
• Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay and Benefits
