Job Summary

The Janitor keeps the building and grounds organized, tidy, clean & sanitary for all employees & public to use. Completes janitorial tasks on floors, carpets, & bathrooms. Assists with some maintenance duties.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully with or without reasonable accommodations to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.

75% Custodial/Cleaning: Cleans buildings including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, garbage pick-up, bathroom maintenance (such as cleaning or plunging toilets, washing mirrors or floors, etc), and washing windows.

25% Grounds Maintenance: Performs outdoor grounds maintenance such as snow removal, grass cutting and landscaping projects. Sets up conference room furniture. Delivers copy paper to departments. Picks-up trash to maintain orderly grounds and changes light bulbs.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent periods of standing, walking, and climbing.

• Ability to move and climb ladders.

Work Environment

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with extreme conditions.
• Frequent periods of loud noises.
• Frequent periods of coming in contact with bodily fluids and communicable diseases.
