Job summary

Diversified Maintenance is hiring a Janitor in Albany, NY to perform all-purpose cleaning and preservation of assigned areas across client sites. Flexibility in duties is required based on customer specifications.

The position offers $16 per hour with weekly pay, a schedule of Mon-Sun 6a-11a totaling 35 hours, and full-time opportunities. On-the-job training is provided and attention to detail is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or at least 6 months janitorial experience.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean all floor surfaces (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming).
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and surfaces.
• Clean, monitor, and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrances.
• Empty trash and handle disposal; operate small equipment as needed.
• Clean windows, partitions, and mirrors with appropriate cleaners.
• Spot clean carpets and assist with carpet extractions/shampooing.
• Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies.
• Follow the housekeeping schedule.
• Occasionally use heavy cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, vacuums, buffers).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the scope of work or client.

Job Description

Diversified Maintenance is hiring a Janitor. The Janitor position is responsible for performing all-purpose cleaning and preservation of assigned area inside a particular building or multiple client sites. Exact tasks of janitorial crew are not definite, consequently, must be flexible in performing assigned duties per client’s specifications.

$16 / hr Weekly Pay

Mon-Sun 6a-11a 35 hrs Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and clean all floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and other objects
• Clean, monitor and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrance areas
• Empty trash cans for proper disposal; use of compactor for certain materials
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and equipment
• Spot clean carpets; assist in carpet extractions and shampooing
• Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies
• Follow housekeeping schedule
• Occasionally use heavy cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers
• Other duties as assigned, as required by the scope of work or customer needs

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of six (6) months of experience in a janitorial type position
• On the job training will be provided
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions effectively

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

• Prior cleaning or janitorial experience
• Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and waxing
• Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance
