Job summary

CW Resources, a CW Group partner, is hiring a Janitor/Custodian at JBLE Langley in Hampton, VA. You’ll start by checking in with your supervisor, then clean floors, restrooms, and high-touch areas, using mops, vacuums, and disinfectants.

This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and compliance with safety rules. Qualified candidates will demonstrate willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and the ability to obtain and maintain government base access.

• Location: JBLE - Langley, Hampton, VA 23665
• Shift: Monday through Friday: 7:00 am 3:30 pm or 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

A Day in the Life of a Janitor/Custodian at CW Resources:

• Start your day by checking in with your supervisor and teammates to go over the cleaning plan and what needs to be done that day.
• Grab your cleaning supplies—like mops, brooms, vacuums, and disinfectants—and load up if you need to.
• When you get to your assigned area, you’ll get started by:
  • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming the floors
  • Taking out the trash and putting in fresh bags
  • Cleaning restrooms, refilling supplies, and wiping down tables, chairs, doors, and more.
  • Dusting furniture, shelves, and vents.
  • Wiping windows, mirrors, and glass doors.
• Before finishing your shift, you’ll walk through the area one last time to make sure everything looks clean and neat.
• Finally, return your tools and supplies to the storage area and get ready for tomorrow.

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

• Willingness to learn new tasks and follow established procedures.

• Ability to stay focused, follow directions, and consistently perform assigned duties.
• Valid Real ID (a federally compliant state-issued driver's license or identification card marked by a star in the upper corner)
• Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Ability to provide all required documentation necessary to obtain access to the CDC facility and other secure work locations as required by the contract.

Physical & Environmental Demands:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout your shift to clean and maintain different areas.
• Repetitive motions such as mopping, sweeping, wiping, and scrubbing surfaces.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning equipment and supplies weighing up to 25-30 pounds regularly.
• Navigating stairs, ramps, or uneven flooring safely while carrying tools or supplies.
• Work is primarily indoors in commercial buildings with varying temperature and lighting conditions.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and solvents—training is provided to ensure safe handling, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is always required.
• Possible exposure to dust, dirt, allergens, and other typical indoor environmental factors.
• May encounter biohazardous materials or bodily fluids (especially in healthcare or public restrooms) with proper safety protocols and PPE in place.
• Working in confined or awkward spaces such as under sinks, behind furniture, or inside equipment areas may be required.
• Noise from vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and other cleaning machinery may be present; hearing protection provided when necessary.

This position offers an hourly wage consistent with the CBA agreement with Transport Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO and its Guided Missile Local 525 beginning August 1, 2025 that outlines the following:

• Hourly job rate is $17.72
• Retirement allowance of $1.60 for each hour worked (up to 40)
• Health and Welfare Benefits rate of $5.09 for each hour worked.
