Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a dedicated janitorial associate to maintain clean, safe facilities in our Texas operations. Duties include cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, and common areas, applying cleaners, and reporting repairs.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, follow safety rules, and work under supervision. On-site position with standard hours; training provided. Brown & Root is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor building security and safety by locking doors after hours and checking electrical appliance use to prevent hazards.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Mix water and detergents or acids to prepare cleaning solutions per specifications.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Notify managers concerning major repairs or additions to building systems.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water, sponges, and squeegees.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, including wearing PPE.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, hallways, and stairs, shampooing rugs, and washing walls and glass. Duties may include tending furnace and boiler, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk.

RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS:

May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
