Job summary

Skookum Contract Services seeks a dedicated Janitor for a part-time, non-exempt role at Lakewood, WA (Joint Base Lewis McChord). Wage is $16.82 per hour. Monday–Friday swing and day shifts with medical, dental, vision, and wellness benefits are offered.

Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, offices, high-traffic areas, entrances, and common areas, plus stocking supplies and maintaining a clean closet. Must obtain security clearance and a valid driver’s license as required.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years lead experience, preferably in a janitorial work setting.
• Must be able to communicate with others in a courteous and helpful way.
• Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Restroom Cleaning - sanitize and clean toilets, urinals, sinks, fixtures, partitions, walls & doors; restock supplies; collect trash and replace liners; sweep and mop floors.
• Office Cleaning - sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule.
• Halls and High Traffic area Cleaning - sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule.
• Entrances and Exits Cleaning - sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean entry doors according to schedule.
• Trash - empty trash in office areas, lunchrooms, coffee areas, restrooms, shower/locker according to schedule.
• Supply Restocking - restock supplies according to schedule.
• Dusting - dust restrooms and shower/locker areas according to schedule.
• Stairwell Cleaning - sweep, mop, vacuum, and wipe handrails according to schedule.
• Shower Cleaning - clean shower stalls, damp wipe for dust, restock supplies, mop floors following cross contamination procedures.
• Janitorial Supply Closet/Locker - keep clean and organized.

Requirements

• Valid State Driver's license required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance company.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.
