Job summary

CenClear in Philipsburg is seeking a part-time Preschool Janitor to keep classrooms and facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for children, staff and visitors. You will perform routine cleaning, restock supplies and adhere to sanitation protocols.

The role offers flexible hours (15–20 per week during the school year) and the chance to contribute to a community-focused early childhood program through reliable, team-oriented service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role:

As a Preschool Janitor, you will play a key role in ensuring that the learning environment remains clean, safe, and hygienic for children, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include routine cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of all areas of the preschool, including classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, play areas, and outdoor spaces.

What You'll Do:

• Work approximately 15-20 hours per week, primarily during the school year
• Main function will be performing janitorial services such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning windows, vacuuming, cleaning, and sanitizing restrooms along with other janitorial duties.
• Maintain clean, orderly spaces in CenClear buildings.
• Ensure sanitary restrooms are stocked with necessary supplies daily
• Use approved products for cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting.
• Report any unsafe or special conditions that might lead to accidents, fire, etc. to the office immediately.
• Maintain a professional attitude and confidentiality concerning information about CenClear staff, children, parents, consumers/clients, and families.
• Attend all required staff meetings and participate in on-the-job training.
• Communicate openly with supervisor by reporting any issues, concerns, or problems.
• Practice social responsibility by checking email daily and responding in a timely manner.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous cleaning experience (preferably in a childcare or educational setting) is a plus
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks
• Familiarity with standard cleaning supplies and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning protocols
• Friendly, professional attitude with a team-oriented mindset
• Flexibility to adjust hours as needed
• Comfort with climbing ladders, cleaning various surfaces with chemical disinfectants, bending, and retrieving items from the floor
• Basic computer skills for managing schedules and task tracking
• Must obtain the following clearances prior to hire: PA State Police Criminal History, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Criminal History, and Mandated Reporting Certificate
