Responsibilities

• Follow established sanitation and safety standards when performing cleaning tasks.
• Clean and maintain all floor surfaces by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
• Dust, clean, and polish surfaces throughout the facility.
• Collect and dispose of waste and transport it to the designated disposal area.
• Use chemical cleaners and equipment according to procedures to prevent damage.
• Clean windows, glass, and mirrors with appropriate products.
• Disinfect and maintain restrooms, corridors, and public spaces.
• Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies as needed.
• Receive deliveries and store supplies in designated locations.
• Maintain janitorial closets and stock cleaning products and restroom supplies.
• Spot-clean rugs and carpets and perform carpet extraction/shampooing as needed.
• Clean areas used by visitors and staff to maintain high sanitation standards.

U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated building maintenance services company, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Janitor to support a facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Follow established sanitation and safety standards when performing all cleaning tasks.
• Clean and maintain all floor surfaces by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
• Dust, clean, and polish surfaces throughout the facility.
• Collect and dispose of paper, trash, and other waste, and transport it to the designated disposal area.
• Use chemical cleaners, cleaning supplies, and equipment—including powered equipment—in accordance with established procedures to prevent damage to floors, furnishings, and other property.
• Clean windows, glass, and mirrors using appropriate products and equipment.
• Clean, disinfect, inspect, and maintain restrooms, corridors, public spaces, and back-of-house areas throughout the facility.
• Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies as needed.
• Receive deliveries and store supplies in their designated locations.
• Maintain janitorial closets and stock cleaning products, paper goods, hand towels, soap, and other restroom supplies.
• Spot-clean rugs and carpets and perform carpet extraction and shampooing as needed.
• Clean areas used by visitors and staff to maintain high sanitation standards.
• Follow the housekeeping schedule established by the immediate supervisor.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations and changing workplace requirements.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Because this position is based in a school environment, the successful applicant must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening and obtain ChildLine clearance and FBI fingerprinting.
• Must be available to work overtime, holidays, weekends, various shifts, alternative schedules, and during severe weather events when required.
• Must be able to speak, read, and understand verbal and written instructions in English.

Schedule and Compensation

• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Hours: 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
• Starting Pay: $22.99 per hour
