Job summary

CW Resources, Inc. is hiring Custodians to keep Fort Eustis facilities clean and safe. Training will be provided, with emphasis on reliability and teamwork to complete tasks efficiently.

Shifts run evenings with varying start times; flexibility is required as workloads change. You will work on site at Fort Eustis Commissary, supporting routine cleaning across multiple areas and facilities.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Responsibilities

• Check in with supervisor and teammates to review cleaning plan.
• Load cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
• Take out trash and replace bags.
• Clean restrooms and wipe down surfaces.
• Dust furniture, shelves, and vents; wipe windows and doors.
• Walk through area before shift ends to ensure cleanliness.
• Return tools and supplies to storage and prepare for tomorrow.

• Location: Fort Eustis Commissary
• Shift:
  • Mon, Tue, Wed, Friday, Saturday: 7:30pm until job completion
  • Thursday: 8:00pm until job completion
  • Sunday: 6:00pm until job completion
• Additional Availability Requirements: Flexibility is required. End times are approximate and may vary depending on workload. Employees are expected to remain on duty until all assigned tasks are completed. Flexibility is required, as occasional morning shifts, holiday work, and schedule adjustments may be necessary based on business needs.

We're hiring Custodians to help keep things clean and running smoothly. Never done this kind of work before? That's totally fine—we'll train you and make sure you feel confident every step of the way.

A Day in the Life of a Janitor/Custodian at CW Resources:

• Start your day by checking in with your supervisor and teammates to go over the cleaning plan and what needs to be done that day.
• Grab your cleaning supplies—like mops, brooms, vacuums, and disinfectants—and load up if you need to.
• When you get to your assigned area, you'll get started by:
• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming the floors
• Taking out the trash and putting in fresh bags
• Cleaning restrooms, refilling supplies, and wiping down tables, chairs, doors, and more.
• Dusting furniture, shelves, and vents.
• Wiping windows, mirrors, and glass doors.
• Before finishing your shift, you'll walk through the area one last time to make sure everything looks clean and neat.
• Finally, return your tools and supplies to the storage area and get ready for tomorrow.

Physical & Environmental Demands:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout your shift to clean and maintain different areas.
• Repetitive motions such as mopping, sweeping, wiping, and scrubbing surfaces.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning equipment and supplies weighing up to 25-30 pounds regularly.
• Navigating stairs, ramps, or uneven flooring safely while carrying tools or supplies.
• Work is primarily indoors in commercial buildings with varying temperature and lighting conditions.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and solvents—training is provided to ensure safe handling, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is always required.
• Possible exposure to dust, dirt, allergens, and other typical indoor environmental factors.
• May encounter biohazardous materials or bodily fluids (especially in healthcare or public restrooms) with proper safety protocols and PPE in place.
• Working in confined or awkward spaces such as under sinks, behind furniture, or inside equipment areas may be required.
• Noise from vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and other cleaning machinery may be present; hearing protection provided when necessary.
