Huntsville Madison County 911 in Huntsville, Alabama seeks Janitorial staff to maintain a clean, safe facility supporting our emergency responders.
Starting salary is $19.34 per hour with 100% employer-paid medical insurance premiums including family coverage. Responsibilities include daily cleaning, floor care, restroom maintenance, and general sanitation to uphold a pristine work environment.

Our facility operates around the clock to serve the community, and the custodial team ensures it remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all. We are seeking dedicated Janitorial Staff members who are motivated, detail-oriented, and reliable. Your work provides the essential foundation that allows our emergency responders to focus on their mission in a pristine workspace.
As a Janitor, you are the caretaker of our professional environment. You will manage daily maintenance tasks, prioritize facility needs, and ensure all areas meet high standards of sanitation and organization. This role is vital for maintaining the health and operational readiness of the Huntsville-Madison County 9-1-1 Center.
Daily Cleaning & Sanitizing: Perform thorough daily cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting of all facility areas to ensure a healthy and safe environment.
Floor Care: Maintain all flooring through consistent sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
Restroom & Hygiene Maintenance: Clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, and showers, ensuring all fixtures are hygienic. Restock paper products, soap, and other disposables as needed.
Glass & Surface Maintenance: Clean and polish mirrors, glass partitions, and windows throughout the facility.
Facility Support: Assist with occasional tasks such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials, equipment, or furniture as required by facility needs.
Collaborate with management to guarantee that daily essential sanitation and waste disposal duties are fulfilled.
Execute cleaning and sanitizing procedures throughout the property in accordance with instructions.
Adhere strictly to established cleaning protocols and timetables.
Preserve the cleanliness and visual appeal of the premises.
Conduct periodic intensive deep cleaning of the facilities.
Provide minimal upkeep for the exterior grounds.
Perform other related duties as directed.
Strong interest in pursuing a career within the custodial field
Prior experience in janitorial or custodial operations is preferred
Hold and maintain a valid Alabama Driver's License, or an equivalent credential
Highly self-driven, diligent, and strongly detail-oriented
Consistently maintain high standards of excellence and meticulous attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team environment
Possess a friendly and approachable demeanor toward others
Physically capable of performing tasks that involve lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required
High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not necessary.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to pass a thorough background check and polygraph test.
Pass a basic physical examination-relevant to the job.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
