Job summary

PHD Services is seeking a dedicated janitor to perform cleaning and custodial tasks at client sites in Houston. The role may require working evenings or early mornings and can operate independently or as part of a crew.

You will clean restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and common areas, restock supplies, and operate cleaning equipment following safety standards. Training is provided, and background checks may be required.

Qualifications

• Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required; training provided.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively independently or as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, including the ability to work scheduled shift times, which may include evenings or early mornings.
• Ability to pass any site-specific background check or badging requirement required by the client.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and common areas according to client and company standards.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling and dispose of waste per site procedures.
• Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, and sanitizer in designated areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor machines, etc.) safely and properly.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety data sheets (SDS).
• Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the supervisor.
• Follow all client-specific site rules, access/badge procedures, and security protocols.
• Maintain accurate time records and complete required documentation (e.g., cleaning logs, checklists).
• Communicate professionally with crew members, supervisors, and client representatives.

This role works independently or as part of a crew, often during scheduled shifts that may occur before, during, or after normal business hours at the client site.

Typical Job Responsibilities:
