Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations is seeking a dedicated facilities cleaner to maintain hygiene and safety across our offices, manufacturing areas, and common spaces in the United States. The role covers restroom upkeep, waste management, and cleaning of high-touch surfaces to support a safe work environment.

You will follow safety procedures, assist with events, and help maintain 5S and cleanliness standards across the facility while using appropriate PPE and handling chemicals per SDS guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain restrooms, breakrooms, offices, conference rooms, production areas, and common spaces.
  • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout the facility.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize assigned areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of entrances, exits, windows, doors, walls, floors, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Clean and sanitize tables, countertops, appliances, and shared-use equipment.
  • Remove litter and debris from facility grounds, parking lots, sidewalks, and dumpster areas.
  • Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, countertops, mirrors, partitions, and floors.
  • Restock restroom supplies including toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, seat covers, and air fresheners.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure restrooms remain clean and fully stocked.
  • Remove trash, cardboard, and debris from manufacturing areas.
  • Maintain aisleways and designated housekeeping zones.
  • Support 5S initiatives and visual workplace standards.
  • Clean guardrails, handrails, and other designated equipment and surfaces.
  • Ensure work areas remain safe and free of housekeeping-related hazards.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and environmental requirements.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, maintenance issues, and facility concerns.
  • Verify emergency exits, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and walkways remain unobstructed.
  • Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals according to company procedures and SDS requirements.
  • Maintain adequate cleaning and restroom supplies.
  • Notify supervisor of low inventory levels.
  • Inspect and maintain janitorial equipment and tools.
  • Secure chemicals and cleaning materials after use.
  • Empty and consolidate waste containers.
  • Properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
  • Ensure waste is segregated, labeled, and stored appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of waste collection and disposal areas.
  • Assist with facility setup and teardown for meetings, tours, special events, and customer visits.
  • Set up and move tables, chairs, tents, and similar equipment as needed.
  • Assist with painting and special cleaning projects.
  • Support changing business needs and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adjust work schedules when necessary to support special events, audits, or facility requirements.

YOUR ROLE:
Facility Cleaning and Housekeeping
