Job summary

Fortune Brands Innovations is seeking a maintenance technician to ensure production equipment operates reliably. You will perform emergency repairs and routine preventive maintenance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support upgrades and improvements.

The role requires safe work practices, the ability to work independently or in a team, and flexibility to overtime as needed. Basic machining and welding skills are valued, along with owning your own hand tools.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to read blueprints and machine control schematics (preferred).
• Must own hand tools.

ABOUT THE JOB

In this position you will have the opportunity to ensure the plant is in compliance with generally accepted maintenance principles while working independently requiring limited supervision.

YOUR ROLE

• Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks on machines, equipment, and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support major repairs, upgrades, and improvement projects
• Safely accomplish assigned tasks
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop equipment specifications and proactive maintenance strategies
• Comply with safety regulations
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• High School Graduate/HSE or equivalent manufacturing experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills
• Manage ambiguity while working through stressful situations
• Positive attitude and a willingness to work with others
• Basic machining skills
• Basic welding skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a group

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work Permits
• Outstanding attendance
• Previous Maintenance Experience

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate works around mechanical hazards, noise and or vibration daily. Extreme temperatures, wetness / humidity and being outdoors.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills

• Ability to run respective inventory system (Great Plains, E21, MES etc.).

Language Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to complete daily Pre-Use Inspection Sheets.
