Job summary

Adelante-Development-Center in Albuquerque, NM is hiring for a full-time janitorial position. You will clean restrooms, sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets, remove trash, dust surfaces, and perform minor maintenance on janitorial equipment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to read and write English, and the capacity to pass pre-employment drug and TB screenings. A $1,250 hiring bonus is offered, with schedule Monday through Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm.

General Description of Duties:

• Cleans restrooms to include toilets, stalls, mirrors, glass, doors, partitions, restock bathroom items and remove trash.
• Sweep, mop, buffs, hard surface floors.
• Cleans carpeted areas with vacuums, spot removal and carpet cleaning equipment with extraction capabilities.
• Ensures grounds and sidewalks are free of trash and debris.
• Removes and disposes of bulk trash from grounds and buildings.
• Dusts and polishes furniture and horizontal surfaces.
• Performs minor assembly, repair and preventative maintenance tasks on janitorial equipment.
• Reports complaints from customers to supervisor for resolution.
• Reports need for equipment repairs.

Schedule & Pay:

Job Type: Full-time | Monday thru Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm.

Pay From: $14.50 per hour

Requirements

Preferred

• One (1) years custodial experience
• Three (3) years general work experience.

Required

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and legibly write in English to understand and interpret written procedures and to prepare documentation of services provided by the staff member.

Other Requirements:

Must pass pre-employment drug and TB screening, Agency, Federal and State Department of Health background investigations. Must possess a valid NM driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance. Must have own reliable transportation and agency insurable driving record. This position frequently sits at a desk or workstation – must be able to sit, stand or otherwise perform typing/keyboarding tasks as required to perform the essential duties of position. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., occasionally. Must be able to work standard work hours as required to fulfill job responsibilities. Adelante is a drug free workplace.
