Job summary

Cass County in Fargo, ND is seeking a Jail Operations Support associate to assist in the adult jail facility. This non-security role supports all jail operations and does not supervise inmates; the position requires adherence to regulations and attention to detail, with night, holiday, and weekend shifts.

Annual salary ranges from $44,396 to $48,620 with potential increases up to $61,299; benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, paid holidays and overtime

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: administer prescribed medications to inmates following established protocols.
• Document medication administration and observed side effects; report adverse reactions to nursing staff.
• Operational Support: assist in jail operations, train for security control, records management, and court records; assist with deliveries, procurement and logistics.
• Emergency Response & Security: assist during emergencies, follow protocols, and coordinate with team members and facility staff.

Jail Operations Support plays a crucial role in providing services within the adult jail facility. This position is a non-security position that supports all jail operational efforts but does not directly supervise inmates. This position requires a strong commitment to regulations and procedures, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a challenging environment.

Position includes working nights, holidays, and weekends.

Annual Salary: $44,396 – $48,620 *Additional salary growth available through regular increases within the classification up to $61,299

Responsibilities

1. Medication Administration:

   • Accurately administer prescribed medications to inmates following established protocols.
   • Document medication administration and any observed side effects.
   • Report adverse reactions promptly to nursing staff.

2. Operational Support:

   • Assist in various areas of the jail on an as needed basis.
   • Train for security control operation, records entry, and court records management.
   • Assist with deliveries, procurement, and logistics for the facility.
   • Assist with internal operational functions.

3. Emergency Response:

   • Assist during emergencies within the facility.
   • Follow emergency protocols and provide immediate support as directed.
   • Work closely with security staff, medical staff, and administrative staff.
   • Communicate effectively with team members and facility staff.

4. Security Awareness:

   • Understand security protocols and maintain situational awareness while working in a correctional setting.
   • Follow safety guidelines to prevent incidents.
