Job summary

Wyandot Behavioral Health Network is seeking a Jail and Court Liaison to connect individuals in the criminal justice system with mental health services and community resources. You will promote alternatives to incarceration, assist with release planning, and coordinate care with detention centers and courts to support smooth transitions back into the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in human services, behavioral health, criminal justice or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, community agencies, and justice partners.
• Experience engaging individuals in mental health services or crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Identify individuals who may benefit from outpatient mental health services and coordinate referrals, appointments, and follow-up care.
• Participate in release planning and help connect individuals with treatment providers post-release.
• Collaborate with detention center staff, mental health professionals, courts, and community agencies to improve coordination of care.
• Attend court proceedings and assist with court-ordered treatment processes, including Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT).
• Identify opportunities for treating individuals in the community to reduce incarceration.
• Maintain databases, monitor bookings and treatment status, and facilitate information sharing to support continuity of care.
• Track court proceedings and coordinate support for court attendance and requirements.
