Base pay range
$21.00/hr - $22.50/hr
Position Summary
Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC), and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities include providing excellent internal and external service, building restaurant sales and profit, and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Internal Service: Recruits, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees. Monitors staffing levels, implements training systems, and develops internal candidates for management roles. Ensures a friendly, fun, clean, and safe environment, motivating employees to high performance, recognizing and rewarding their efforts, and complying with labor laws.
- External Service: Manages daily operations to deliver excellent guest experiences, ensures food quality and safety, maintains restaurant cleanliness, and responds to guest concerns professionally. Serves as a role model for guest service excellence.
- Higher Profits: Partners with the Restaurant Manager to analyze operational and financial performance, develops action plans to increase sales and profitability, and monitors costs and adherence to budgets.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1+ years as a Shift Leader or 1 year as an Assistant Manager in a customer service environment; must be certified in all workstations. External candidates need at least 3 years of Assistant Manager experience with P&L responsibility.
- Must be at least 18 years old, complete Assistant Manager training, and be ServSafe certified. Effective communication skills in English, basic math skills, and proficiency with computers required. Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk most of the shift, lift 10-65 lbs, operate restaurant equipment, and drive a vehicle.
