Job description

Trans Ova Genetics is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IVF Laboratory Manager to join our team in Richland, WA! This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and strong leadership skills. As an IVF Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for personnel management of all members within the IVF and Semen Sexing Lab. You will also be an active member in daily production associated with IVF procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical work: searching of oocytes, maturation of oocytes, preparation of semen for IVF, insemination of oocytes, oocyte stripping, embryo culture, embryo freezing, lab quality control and equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Supervision work: directly supervises team members in the IVF and SS Labs, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for ensuring the efficiency of production with an emphasis on quality.
  • Regular monitoring and troubleshooting production results
  • Management of internal and external complaints
  • Ensures effective communication between teams and departments.
  • Participate in mentoring, coaching, and training activities
  • Complete required training assignments, forms and other paperwork
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs and regulatory and export directives
  • Assist Regional Operations Managers with annual budget planning
  • Active participation in team building
  • Facilitate change within the lab
  • Follows Trans Ova’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a professional image reflective of Trans Ova’s industry position.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education Requirements:

A minimum of B.Sc. in Animal Science or related field with a minimum of 3 years IVF experience. Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Ability to sit for long periods of time behind a microscope, in a clean lab setting. Ability to work under a laminar flow hood. Good hand to eye coordination. Handling dexterity is required for manipulation of equipment and small objects. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, color recognition, depth perception, and ability to adjust to focus. Ability to work with liquid nitrogen. Some travel may be required.
