IV&V Software Test Engineer – responsible for verification, validation, and quality assurance of mission‑critical software systems that support aviation diagnostics, prognostics, and health monitoring for U.S. Army aviation platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute software test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
- Verify requirements and maintain traceability.
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and support corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test environments.
- Perform API, database, and interface testing.
- Analyze test results and generate technical metrics and reports.
- Support software releases, customer test events, and technical reviews.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of software test, quality engineering, or IV&V experience.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Experience developing and executing software test procedures.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with requirements traceability and defect tracking tools.
- Experience with manual and automated testing.
- Familiarity with C#, object‑oriented software, REST APIs, SQL Server, and relational databases.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting aviation, aerospace, or DoW programs.
- Must be able to work on‑site at Redstone Arsenal.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with automated test frameworks and scripting languages.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps and secure software development practices.
- Experience with SIL, HIL, integration, and system‑level testing.
- Familiarity with HUMS, condition‑based maintenance, or prognostics systems.
- Knowledge of CMMI, ISO 9001, and software quality processes.
- Experience with cybersecurity and performance testing.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
- Understanding of avionics interfaces, embedded systems, and aviation data buses.
- ISTQB, Security+, or related certifications.
Work Schedule & Location
Monday – Friday, 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. Onsite in Huntsville, Alabama, Redstone Arsenal. Travel required: 0–10%. Relocation assistance: None.
