Job summary

American IV is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide vascular access across the hospital, performing peripheral IV placement and PICC insertion and maintenance. The role includes patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with the nursing team to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities include ultrasound-guided catheter insertion, vascular access management, and supporting training, research, and process improvement to enhance patient outcomes and hospital workflows.

Qualifications

• Active District of Columbia or compact-state RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Job description

Provide vascular access to patients throughout the hospital, including peripheral IV placement and PICC insertion and maintenance. Deliver compassionate nursing care, assess patient conditions, develop care plans, and collaborate with the nursing team. The role also supports training, research, and process improvement. Place peripheral intravenous lines for patients throughout the hospital. Insert and maintain peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) lines. Use ultrasound guidance for catheter insertion. Assess patient conditions and identify actual or potential health concerns. Develop and deliver or coordinate appropriate patient care plans. Contribute to nursing training, research, and process improvement.
