Job summary

Central Admixture Pharmacy, part of CAPS, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to prepare compounded sterile products under a pharmacist’s direction at our Woburn location. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, strict adherence to policies, and involvement in cleanroom activities.

The candidate will perform routine duties, assist in room setup, and help maintain QA records in a fast-paced environment with rotating weekends and an 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent is required.
• 0-2 years related experience is required.
• Valid Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician license required.
• Valid PTCB or NHA ExCPT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to CAPS policies and procedures.
• Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
• Assists in setup of the compounding room, equipment and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions.
• Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
• Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities.
• Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing.

Position Summary:

Pharmacy Technician prepares compounded sterile products and performs related activities under the direction of a pharmacist.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

• Adheres to all CAPS policies and procedures
• Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
• Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions, using aseptic technique.
• Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
• Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities.
• Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing.

Level II additionally may:

• Assist in training/mentoring of new IV Technicians as assigned

• Requires working knowledge of technical field/area of specialization.
• Exercises general application of principles, theories and concepts.
• Follows established procedures and guidelines.
• Works under direct supervision and from detailed verbal and/or written instructions.
• Uses established procedures to accomplish assigned task.
• May require some limited judgement in resolving problems.
• Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, peers and subordinates.

Expertise: Qualifications -Education/Experience/Training/Etc

Required:

• High school diploma/G.E.D or equivalent required.
• 0-02 years related experience required.
• REQUIRED: Valid Pharmacy Technician State License issued by the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy
• REQUIRED: Valid Phamacy Technician National Certification from the PTCB or NHA ExCPT

-Schedule is (8AM to 4:30PM) Monday- Friday and every other weekend rotating. Holidays/overtime as required
-Salary range is $20.23 - $26.50

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
