Regional Cancer Care Associates LLC in Toms River, NJ is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our patient-centered team. You will prepare medication orders, verify information, and support IV compounding under supervision, ensuring accuracy and safety in daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years experience in a pharmacy with IV skills; IV certification preferred.
• Must have fulfilled all requirements of the State Board of Pharmacy registration.
• Pharmacy Technician license and current registration with the State Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medication orders by compounding or admixing under supervision.
• Verifies orders for completeness, accuracy, and insurance approval; ensure proper patient information and physician authorization.
• Admixes drugs as ordered by a physician in an accurate and timely manner, adhering to department, OSHA, and interoffice guidelines.
• Calculate correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
• Maintain indigent patient drug program as assigned.
• Maintain current drug information and MSDS sheets.
• Assist lead admixture/pharmacy technician in ensuring standard drug supplies are adequate in all departments.
• Assist in controlled substance record keeping in accordance with practice guidelines, state and federal regulations.
• Dispose of materials used in mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs in accordance with practice guidelines, state and federal law.
• Clean hoods daily, check drugs monthly for outdates, and perform and document other quality assurance activities.
