Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is seeking an IV Pharmacy Technician II to prepare and deliver IV admixtures under pharmacist supervision, and manage unit inventory and related documentation.

The role requires pharmacy technician registration in Virginia and CPhT certification, with an emphasis on accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to hospital policies. On-site position with opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy Technician training program preferred.
• 1+ year of Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
• Virginia Board of Pharmacy registration and CPhT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare IV admixtures under pharmacist supervision and deliver to clinical units.
• Maintain IV admixture room inventory and order supplies.
• Notify pharmacy buyer of drugs and supplies shortages.
• Clean and organize IV room and laminar flow hoods per policies.
• Record charges and generate IV medication charts for nursing units.
• Train new staff in IV admixture and inventory control.
• Maintain computerized controlled drug inventory per regulations.
• Perform monthly narcotics audits and inventory.
• Process drug returns and return unused meds to stock.
• Attend hospital orientations and meetings.
