Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred.
• Ability to work as a team member and basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of pharmacy practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and aseptic technique.
• Knowledge of USP 797 Guidelines and standard precautions.
• 1 year IV room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter orders for intravenous medication in pharmacy computer system per physician order.
• Maintain adequate inventory of medications and supplies.
• Maintain IV pumps according to policies and procedures.
• Compound large-volume IV medications and small-volume admixtures.
• Prepare intravenous medications for delivery in appropriate packaging.
• Maintain compounding logs and patient information sheets.
• Document and file medication storage area inspections monthly.
• Maintain cleanliness of cleanroom and anteroom and document environmental monitoring.
