Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. in Boston (Longwood, Shapiro building outpatient infusion center) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to prepare sterile and non-sterile medications and ensure timely delivery to nursing areas and departments.

The role supports pharmacists and nursing staff and adheres to DEA and DPH regulations. Responsibilities include restocking ADSs, labeling, IV prep per USP standards, and participating in QA processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician license or certification (Board of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Technician) required; registry in good standing.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems and basic Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Restocks automated dispensing machines and floor stock medications.
• Delivers all medications in compliance with DEA, DPH, and State Board regulations.
• Prepares and delivers IV medications following USP 797 and USP 800 standards; maintains records and QA processes.
• Compounds non-sterile products and repackages bulk supplies per USP 795 and 800.
• Checks for expired/damaged medications and disposes of them per regulations.
• Mentors and trains students and pharmacy technicians.
