Job summary

Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to perform routine pharmacy services including triaging calls, repackaging, dispensing, labeling, charging, compounding and inventorying medications to ensure patient safety and excellent customer service.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, Texas tech registration or intern status, and IV certification; two years of college preferred and zero experience acceptable but one year in a hospital setting is

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; GED or homeschool equivalency acceptable.
• Two years of college preferred.
• Zero experience acceptable; one year of Pharmacy Technician experience preferred for hospital settings.
• Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration or Texas Registered Pharmacist Intern required.
• IV Certification - Intravenous certification required.

Responsibilities

• Triages phone calls and provides front-line customer service.
• Repackages, labels, and dispenses medications as directed.
• Manages charging/crediting of medications and inventory control.
• Supports compounding and preparation of medications as needed.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation for assigned tasks.
• Uses hospital pharmacy software and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operations.
