Job summary

Houston Methodist Hospital is seeking a Nights - PRN Pharmacy Technician to perform routine pharmacy services including triaging calls, repackaging, dispensing, labeling, charging/crediting, compounding, and inventorying medications. The role focuses on patient safety and excellent customer service within a hospital setting.

Requires Texas Pharmacy Technician registration or intern, IV certification, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Zero experience; one year of Pharmacy Technician experience applicable to the specific work setting highly preferred.
• Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration or Texas Registered Pharmacist Intern required
• IV Certification - Intravenous certification (Various) - Various Issuers

Responsibilities

• Promotes a positive work environment and contributes to a dynamic, team focused work unit that actively helps one another to achieve optimal department results.
• Collaborates with other health care professionals as needed for problem resolution and/or achievement of identified patient specific goals.
• Assists with optimizing the safety and efficiency of pharmacy operations and to support the workflow needs of the pharmacy department.
• Contributes in department efforts to resolve drug related problems and maximizing patient care.
• Performs efficient and safe medication distribution functions such as, but not limited to: telephone triage, repackaging of medications, labeling medications, charge/credit of medications, compounding medications, and inventory of medications.
